TRAINERS

jUjU Griffith

Juwan Griffith, known as “JuJu,” is the Founder and Owner of JuJu Performance. A former Division-I football player at Army West Point, he discovered his passion for coaching after serving as a student-assistant for the Army Strength Staff in 2017. JuJu went on to become an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Varsity House Gym, quickly rising to Assistant Performance Director. There, he led training for athletes ranging from junior high to professional levels, including group fitness and tactical training. He has worked with athletes across the NFL, NBA, FIBA, and U.S. Army. JuJu holds a bachelor’s degree from Excelsior College and a Master’s in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University.

Meghan Shea, Operations Manager

Meghan has dedicated the past seven years to her own fitness and wellness journey, supported by Performance’s lead adult trainer, Josiah Bierwas. Through consistent training, balanced nutrition, and a deep commitment to personal wellness, she has achieved several fitness goals and significant weight loss. As Operations Manager, Meghan is committed to supporting every member in reaching their health goals within a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Josiah Bierwas, CPT, Adult Training Program Director

Josiah is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Trainer and black belt jiu-jitsu coach with over 15 years of experience in the health and fitness industry. He holds additional certifications in Athletic Performance, Corrective Exercise, Weight Loss, and Group Personal Training. Josiah specializes in functional and corrective movement, strength training, and cardio conditioning. His training philosophy emphasizes consistency, proper form, and individualized programming tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.

Nate Lewis, CPT

Nate is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Nutrition Coach. A lifelong grappler, he has competed as a wrestler and is a blue belt in jiu-jitsu. Nate was also recognized as an Under Armour All-American for Team New Jersey in lacrosse. A natural leader, he has coached both high school lacrosse and youth competition jiu-jitsu. Whether you’re an athlete aiming to elevate your performance, recovering from an injury, or new to health and fitness, Nate designs training programs for all abilities and experience levels.

JuJu is a graduate from Excelsior College in Albany, New York and I hold my Master’s Degree in Kinesiology from Louisiana State University.
